she/her
Carley is a PhD candidate in the I3 Lab at Brock University in the Department of Kinesiology, specializing in behavioural and population health. Carley's research spans lab projections from injury prevention, concussion management and rehabilitation, to implementation of prevention, management, and rehabilitation initiatives. She is focused on psychosocial concussion recovery and athletes' social support during the concussion Return to Sport strategy.
Research Interests
Carley is a former varsity hockey player, where she played for five years at MacEwan University (Edmonton, Alberta). She graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and began a career as a physiotherapy assistant. After working with injured athletes in a clinical setting she decided to merge her passion for sport and psychology to pursue a Master of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge (Lethbridge, Alberta). For her master's thesis she explored university athletes' perceptions of social support during the sport-related concussion Return to Sport strategy.

As a PhD candidate in the I³ Lab, Carley intends to continue to explore athletes' psychosocial concussion rehabilitation. Her SSHRC-funded doctoral research focuses on the implementation of behaviour change interventions for youth athletes during their concussion rehabilitation. She is also interested in injury prevention across youth, varsity, and para sport populations and applied sport psychology interventions for varsity student-athletes.
