Race and Concussion in Youth Sport
This research project explores how race and other social determinants of health shape concussion experiences among Black youth athletes in Canada. Through interviews with athletes, the study examines how concussions are recognized, reported, and managed, as well as how access to care, family support, and community context influence recovery. The goal is to generate knowledge that can inform more equitable and culturally responsive concussion care in sport and healthcare settings.
