she/her

Caroline is a PhD student in the I3 Lab at Brock University in the Department of Kinesiology, specializing in behavioural and population health. Caroline’s research is embedded in the CAN-IIHSS project, focused on injury patterns and risk factors in Canadian University Basketball athletes.

Research Interests

Caroline has been at Brock University since 2015, where she developed a passion for injury management and prevention through her work with the Brock Women’s Hockey Team as a Brock Sport Medicine (BSM) student for three years. During this time, she also conducted two independent studies on concussion prevention and recovery in her third and fourth years. These experiences deepened her understanding of injury management and treatment, leading her to initiate a peer mentoring program in her fifth year to mentor fellow BSM students and foster communication between students and head therapists. For her time and dedication, she was awarded the one-time Brock Sports Medicine Outstanding Achievement award. Caroline graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Physical Education, a minor in French, and a specialization in injury prevention, followed by a Master of Science degree in Applied Health Sciences, where her research focused on the injury surveillance system implemented at the Canada Games from 2009-2019, graduating in 2023.

As a PhD student in the I3 lab, Caroline continues to explore injury-related factors in university athletes. Her doctoral research, embedded within the Canadian Integrated Injury and Health Surveillance System (CAN-IIHSS), focuses on collecting injury and health data with assistance from athletic therapists and physiotherapists within the varsity programs.
